Fiberglass Shop
Each Street Beast body is laid up in a one-piece mold for strength, durability and ease of assembly. Our body assemblies are unitized, not produced from a series of separate sub-assemblies laminated together that may de-laminate over time. Not a "panel job" with the attendant chaffing and bolt pull-through problems. One massive piece, nominally 3/8" thick. Simple. Strong. Easy. The high quality finish on your Street Beast begins with the molds we use. The mold is the most important part of the process, as it is a perfect mirror of the finished car. Each mold is designed with the minimum of break points, and all breaks fall into unobtrusive areas on the body promoting a smooth finish. An ongoing program of mold inspection, repair and replacement ensures the accuracy and the integrity of each body we make. Fiberglass manufacturing really starts with the waxing the mold, and experience has shown us that a natural "Simonize" type wax works best, providing a hard, slick surface. Synthetic waxes are clear and require less clean up, so lots of companies take that shortcut. Yet it's more difficult to properly wax the mold with a synthetic. Too much wax and you get pre-release, and the body loses integrity. Not enough wax, and you get no release, and you can pretty much figure on making a new mold.
Once the mold is waxed, we spray in the sandable gel-coat. A fumed silicate added to the gel-coat yields a hard, durable surface that is easier to sand in preparation for paint. The gel-coat is given a couple of hours to begin the curing process, then the fiberglass is laid in. We use a combination of chopper gun and hand-laid applications. The chopper gun precisely measures stranded fiberglass and resin, and applies the mixture to the mold. Chopper gun operators are born and not made; it takes a smooth motion from the shoulder to lay in the right amount in each area of the mold at the same time preventing runs, sags or excess buildup at the edges of the mold. We use rotisseries to handle our molds to ensure even coverage. Additional 3 lb. mat is hand laid in all high-stress areas, and the entire body gets rolled out by hand to ensure integrity. Street Beast bodies are the thickest in the industry.
Fit & Finish
Fit and finish is important on any vehicle, and it's an area of intense scrutiny on any fiberglass car. Street Beast Bodies are shipped with the window and door areas 'glassed in to help the body maintain it's shape and integrity during shipping and storage. By starting with a unitized main body assembly, many of the joints found in steel cars are eliminated in a Street Beast. Your Street Beast is shipped in the sandable gel-coat primer, ready for a bit of blocking, some wet sanding and your choice of paint. Because we've tooled our molds to such a high degree, prep time required for painting is drastically reduced. With our optional Pre-Assembly Service, you will save even more time and labor. As Street Beast bodies are removed from the mold (actually, the mold is disassembled from around the finished body), the areas where breaks in the mold are evident get sanded and re-gel coated. Next, the entire exterior surface is sanded in two passes with 400 and 600 grit sandpaper. The result - our sandable finish looks "good enough to buff", so you won't be embarrassed to show your pals your project while it's "under construction". The attention we pay to the finish of every Street Beast means our builders spend hundreds of dollars less when it comes time to get their project painted. Additionally, your moving body panels (like decks and doors) get bonded together in Contour Jigs that best replicate the contours of the finished body. This permits the builder to use the exterior of the car as his guide to a good fit and finish. Precise alignment in-house as part of our Pre-Assembly Service means you simple install these parts - you don't have to build them yourself from loose components.
Metal Shop
Just as the essential materials of resin and 'glass go into one end of our 'glass shop, only to emerge as finished bodies and components at the other end, so goes the flow in the metal shop.

Tubes, angles, sheets and straps of steel and aluminum enter this department, with completed frames and structural components exiting at an alarming rate.

Each frame starts with 10 ga., 2" x 4" cold-rolled frame rails, and features substantial diagonal cross-bracing for stiffness - critical in a fiberglass bodied car. Your suspension mounts are welded on and drilled to facilitate the "bolt-on simplicity" of installation with our recommended components. All welding is done by hand, performed by our certified welders with the utmost precision in our own custom-built jigs.

No wood is used in any Street Beast design; your body is completely supported throughout with Steel. Door and deck panels come to the builder with the steel supports bonded inside allowing you to bolt your steel hinges into the provided steel posts upon assembly. All steel frames come in standard prime red, or left bare if you intend to have it powder coated.
Upholstery Shop
From the headliner down to the carpeting, we offer a complete upholstery package for every Street Beast. Our door panels are finished with upholstery over carpet for a factory look that wears well.

Interiors are available in a variety of colors, all pre-cut per our templates and pre-sewn to ease installation. Cloth convertible tops are available for our roadsters in a variety of complimentary colors.
Outsource Parts
To ensure prompt delivery we maintain a ready inventory of those parts that we do not manufacture in-house, like window glass, hinges and head lamps. Our just-in-time warehousing procedures mean your Street Beast is ready when you are!
Loading Dock
We provide a substantial crate, built up on a full length, four way pallet, for every Street Beast to facilitate world-wide shipment. The frame is bolted down to the pallet, then the body is strapped down on top of the frame. Smaller parts are carton up, bubble-packed where required, nested inside the body cavity and strapped down to the pallet. Then a crate, substantial enough to permit stacking units two or three high is constructed around the Street Beast.

Alternately, you may elect to take delivery of your Frame First, along with assembly manual and gas tank, so that you might begin working on your project sooner. Our Staged Delivery Program is a flexible program designed with the home builder in mind, allowing you to work at your pace and within your limits of shop size and budget.

Street Beast are priced F.O.B. Miami. Many customers take advantage of our Miami location and pickup their crated Street Beast, getting a little "R & R" in the deal.. a little "Wife Insurance" in some cases, we suspect. Alternately, we are happy to obtain a quote for your shipment via common carrier, with neighborhood delivery if desired.
